The Research Student’s primary responsibility involves close interaction with a senior Research Associate in the
Department of Cardiac Surgery, as well as five Cardiac Surgeons at University Hospital.

Proficient computer skills including PowerPoint, Excel, Powerchart, as well as word processing and data entry
• Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) with a high level of initiative and motivation.
• Familiarity with cardiac terminology is helpful
• Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as an effective team member.
• Demonstrated commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
• Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety
